Boss Info: This boss monster requires level 71 Dungeoneering to encounter.
Smuggler's Notes: The runebound behemoth is a beast enhanced by mages. It is still tied to the locations that bind it, so operate one class of pillar to remove its defences for a while.
Drops:

Free to play drops are shown in white, members-only drops in this colour, and unconfirmed drops in italic. Item groups are shown like [this].

Notes: The runebound behemoth uses magic, melee and ranged attacks. If you stay at a distance, it will only use magic and ranged attacks. If you are using a protection prayer, the behemoth won't use attacks that would be blocked by it. If you move under the beast, it will trample you, causing damage and knocking you off your feet for a second.

This boss can also perform a special attack, which is announced by the beast roaring as it charges energy. While this attack will never kill you, it can deal massive damage, allowing any follow-up attacks to easily take you out. You can avoid taking damage from the special attack by running away or teleporting out of the room while it is being charged. The beast will only use this attack if no crystals are deactivated (see below).

The behemoth protects itself by using protection prayers; it is able to use all three at once. Three crystals are located in the beast's room. Deactivating a crystal will temporarily suppress one protection prayer. The prayer will become active before you can deactivate the same crystal again. You will need to bring two combat styles to be able to continuously damage the runebound behemoth. It is not impossible to defeat using just a single combat style, but the fight's duration will be longer.

Consider fighting the runebound behemoth using primarily melee attacks. Switch to a longbow when it is vulnerable to only ranged attacks. The longbow's massive ranged attack bonus will allow you to frequently hit the beast, even when you're wearing a full set of melee armour. Since your armour will protect you from the beast's melee and ranged attacks, you should pray against magic.
