Enlightened Journey Balloon Routes

This minigame has been rated as Low Risk. See the minigames page for a definition of high and low risk.

Introduction

This guide contains detailed pictures and instructions for unlocking each of the balloon routes available after completing the Enlightened Journey quest.

Ga Balloon N

The routes allow travel between Entrana, Taverley (unlocked during quest), the Crafting Guild, Varrock (near Lumberyard), Castle Wars, and the Grand Tree/Gnome Stronghold. Once unlocked, a trip will only cost one log (and no navigation will be required - you choose your destination on the map and you're there.) Note that your travel weight must be less than 40kg.

Supplies

To unlock a route, start from the Entrana balloon carrying a tinderbox and the amount and type of logs listed for that route in the table below. Check the listed firemaking level requirement also - it is slightly different than for lighting these logs on the ground.

Destination Firemaking Level Logs to Unlock
Entrana (quest) 20 Normal
Taverley (quest) 20 Normal
Crafting Guild 30 10 Oak
Varrock (Lumberyard) 40 10 Willow
Castle Wars 50 10 Yew
Gnome Stronghold 60 3 Magic

Controls

Detailed pictures for each phase of each route are provided below. They are colour-coded to show which controls should be used for each step. The control panel in this picture has coloured arrows added to match each control to the markings on the pictures. As you use the controls, the markings will become self-explanatory.

Balloon Controls
Control Colour Symbol Move
Sandbag Pink 2 UP Up 2 and right 1
Log Blue 1 Up Up 1 and right 1
Relax Green 1 Right Right 1
Rope Purple 1 Down Down 1 and right 1
Red Rope Red 2 DOWN Down 2 and right 1

The controls show a count next to the sandbags and logs to show how many you have left, but if you follow these instructions you should not run out. The "Bail" option will abruptly end your flight, losing all of your logs, so don't do this unless you just want to quit.
