If you are fighting this monster and it disappears underground move 2-3 steps away to avoid being hit for 1405 damage - prayer cannot deflect any damage done by this attack! Players, even without a desert strykewyrm slayer task, can still be hit by the 1405 LP attack, regardless if they are in combat or not, but will not take damage.

It melees up close and ranges when you are few steps away. It also occasionally uses its ranged attack when you are close to it. You are not subject to the desert effect in this area.
