Uses Investigate the effigy to nourish it and gain 15,000 XP in the skill used to investigate the Starved ancient effigy. Alternatively, you can right-click it and select your choice of the two skills to do so faster, as of 26 June 2017.
Notes Investigating a Starved ancient effigy requires level 91 in at least one of two particular skills, depending on the type of effigy possessed; each effigy "craves knowledge" in one or another of a pairing of two skills. These pairings are:
  • Agility or Crafting
  • Construction or Thieving
  • Cooking or Firemaking
  • Fishing or Farming
  • Fletching or Woodcutting
  • Herblore or Hunter
  • Mining or Smithing
  • Runecrafting or Summoning

Players lacking the required level to investigate an effigy can have another player do it for them via the "Request Assist" system. If this is done, the original owner will keep the upgraded effigy after it's been investigated, although the assisting player will earn the XP reward for investigating it in the first place.

If you do not have the skills to feed the Effigy and cannot find someone else who does, you can take it to Historian Minas on the first floor of the Varrock Museum. He will give you an experience lamp, but it will only give a small fraction of the experience the Effigy would have given, and can only be used on a skill that is level 50 or higher.

Keep in mind that not all skills can be assisted. Further information about the assist system can be found in our Beginner's Guide.
