"A Heavy Heart

The desert god Het granted the emir two requests only. The emir thought for a moment, before asking Het to pick up three ambassadors in each hand, yet Het could discern no difference in weight between them. The emir then asked Het to pick up two of the remaining ambassadors, one in each hand, but again found no difference.

The emir had used up his requests. The ninth ambassador - the guilty party - had not been weighed and believed himself free of justice... but the emir knew otherwise. 'All others have been weighed and found equal, so you must carry the heavy heart of guilt!' The thief protested, but to prove his accusation the emir sliced open the thiefs belly, and out poured the diamond..."
