Coins are sometimes spoken in units of GP - 1 GP, 10 GP, and so on. It's the most common currency, so most trades are done with coins.

HISTORY:
Throughout RuneScape, there are actually many types of currencies, but they are all standardised to have the same weight, size and gold quality. That way, when travelling through one kingdom to another, you are able to use another kingdom's coin. The standard coinage is to have either the royal coat of arms or a profile of the ruler of the land on one side of the coin, and a symbolic design on the other. Varrock for example has a shield motif on one side, and the Varrockian Crest on the other, the shield being testament to a great hero who once did dwell there.
