I've managed to significantly improve the compression used on the RuneScape client. This means the game should now download more quickly. It also reduces the total amount of bandwidth being used by the RuneScape servers, which will hopefully also mean less lag at peak times.

All the maps, graphics and code for the RuneScape client are now compressed into just 687k at a compression ratio of nearly 20:1!

Now you see not only Nr. Items to get to lv, but also LV when you will get it, exp for single item and .... i added new color code Yellow so you know what you will be able to do once you get to that lv !!

Please check exp values as hmmm you know it is human to make mistakes and you never know .... btw you all like credits ehehee

Whow it was busy days around here and Lightning updated ton of pages, but most important is that shop list is now up to date on all prices .. BIG thank to Lightning as she spend TON of gold on that ... R2keen2 was busy too and he give a look at quest page and finished "some !" mising things .. Hip Hip hoora for him too... and don't kill khim in wilderness he is looking to get me rune helm there...

Our order of two new servers arrived from Dell yesterday, and after a few hours work they are now setup and running world 5 and world 6. This increases the total capacity to 7500 simultaneous players.

Whow Lightning was in IRC whnen MrAndrew (Runescape author) jumped in and she loged all so here is a short report.

two new servers arrived in the US today, they are setting up now, if all goes to plan Runescape will have 6 worlds and 7500 capacity that is 50% more space for everyone

The very next update is a rather boring one which Andrew have already finished and it makes game load more quickly and save a lot of bandwidth (equals more players)

the one after that will probably be p2p, Andrew is hoping to get it online in about 3 weeks and this update will be huuuge. 4 new quests, 2 new skills, loads of stuff :-) new zone monsters (bats and wolfs confirmed) dueling and more ...

Price of game will be 5$ or 3.50£ for mont with possibility to pay for all year and have discount.

Last news is that in exactly 6 days time runescape will be exactly 1 year old (1 year since launch)

This is last quest you can get only crom Champions guild so you have to finish all other quests before you can attemt doing it and dragon breath fire that will melt your armour and you in it it is 110 Lv !! ant to even get a chance to combat with him you need to finish a quite difficult quest.

I archived long lasting poll "How much you can pay to play Premium Runescape" that have great succes with over 15.500 votes.

From replys 57% (8900 replys) of people are against paying for play but majority will continue to play a free version (40%). From 43% of people who are willing to pay thare is over 24% that don't know if they will be able to do it as they dont have credit cards.

From the rest it looks that people are willing to pay 3,49 $ a month even if majority 9% (1555) say that they are willing to pay even 5$. In hope to retain a wide popularity that free version of game have, premium will probably need to be in price range from 2$ to 3$ looking at nearest concurents.
