7th November 2003 - Item bug is FIXED!

The recent item duplication bug is now fixed.
We're pretty sure the loophole that was being abused to create items unfairly no longer works.

Thanks to everyone who emailed in with information. We received over 600 messages from people keen to help, in just a couple of hours! The itemhotline email address is now switched off to prevent our inboxes overflowing!

We will work out what we are going to do about the items that were introduced to the game next. For now I would just recommend that you avoid buying or selling partyhats/crackers completely for the next few days whilst things settle down. This will also make it easier for us to track where everything went.

Rest assured that anything we do with respect to sorting out the aftermath will be as fair as possible. We're mainly interested in catching players who have gained an absurd amount of wealth (i.e millions of gp worth) in just the last couple of days.

It has been brought to my attention that Party Hats are being duplicated in Runescape. Pink Hats in particular.

As has happened in the past, all duplicated items have been removed. Tip.it wishes to advise players that duplicing items its AGAINST the rules and is a bannable offence, and if you buy a duplicated item, chances are that it will be removed. My advice is to wait a week or 2 until you buy or sell your hats, as they could be duplicated or mistaken for duplicates.

Due to the current influx of sales, it has been decided that the selling of party hats, of any kind, on ScapeBoard is, temporarily, banned!!!

Any posts selling hats will be removed. Posters posting multiple times for sale of phats will be temporarily banned.

We apologise to anyone legitimately trying to sell their hat - but, with the number currently being sold, it is quite obvious that there is an issue that needs to be dealt with. Jagex have been contacted and are looking into it.

A Caring for your kitty guide has been added to the site. The guide isn't 100% complete at the moment, because we will be adding some images, etc. This guide can be found in the new Mini Quests section of the site, which is located in the Quest Guides.

Also, we've added a link to Deadman Andy's rare item guide, which can be found in the Items section.

6th November 2003 - New subscriptions - now fixed

The RuneScape credit card billing server is now up and running again. WorldPay, our credit card processing company have resolved the problems that they were experiencing.
Any subscribers who have been waiting to sign up for membership are now able to do so.

After all this updates I found myself in front of problems with increased traffic that threaten to chose between updating site more (what we all wish) or have to stop so that traffic don’t go over limits we can cover with advertising gain. We have around 13.000 people visiting this site daily, some 6 GIGA byte a day of traffic and over 1MB a SECOND peak traffic (1MByte = +8000kbps)!! and all this cost me money and to cover it we need better banners, so I updated code at last from my look it even look faster then old one and it offer some more advertising options. I know some can be annoying but they make sites independent and offer you indirectly this rich source of information’s at fast speed, if any offend you please to report it to me with screenshot if possible and I will try to negotiate with advertising agency to remove it.

Monster Database:
The crew are currently working hard on getting the monster database up2date, and your help would be great. We need confirmation on monster drops, images for monsters which don't already have images, and even monsters which havn't already been listed. Anything you can help us with would be appreciated.
These can be emailed us, by clicking on the Monster Database section and then clicking the link up the top of the page, which allows you to send in monster database information.

2nd November 2003 - RS2 is still on schedule

I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that we're still on schedule to release the RS-2 beta on the 1st-Dec.
I've been getting into work early, and working a few weekends, and I've managed to make up the time it took to do the Halloween event, so 1st-dec is still on.

4th November 2003 - Credit Card Payments

Unfortunately there is a temporary fault with the RuneScape credit card billing server. Worldpay, our credit card processing company are currently experiencing technical difficulties which they are working to resolve today (Tuesday Nov 4th 2003).
Exisiting subscribers shouldn't be affected by this, you may just be billed a day or two late, but this won't affect your membership, and won't result in you paying more.

New subscribers - hold on there. You won't be able to subscribe until this is fixed. We apologise for any inconvenience, we are making every effort to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible.

Thanks to Sir Galphan who send us this nice guide how to get this new spells. Even if spells are not doing formidable 35+ damage as before "bug fix".. they are still nice to see and quite usefull in experienced hands.

Today Updates: 26 new monsters !!! thanks to Mage Burner (tip staff) who ordered them and i looked in emails and added all new monsters some are still missing pictures but at last you can learn some more feel free to check at.

We are working hard to cach on missing or wrong items, as always IF you submit errors, missing info etc a.) add as much info as you can add link to page where we need to add it, there was ton of people saying " there is something wrong there" but try to explain WHAT you think is wrong i always add credits to people who send most detailed and usefull info AND we will add first recived im sorry but becouse of share amount of emails (count in THOUSANDS) we are geting we cannot reply every one with thanks or explanation but in any case every little bit of info you send will be examined and if usefull added.

Well, the tip.it crew have been doing a great job updating the site with bug fixed, guides, etc. Id like to thank all the crew members for doing this, and I encourage you to thank them if you are ever speaking to them also. The crew members include Mage_Burner, GreatSilverWyrm, TonyJr, Deadman_Andy, CrystalMt, GreenJello and Wistan.

Anyways, I have been receiving a number of Private Messages on scapeboard from people who wish to join the crew. I have replied to all of these people, although a new system is being worked on, so myself and the admins arn't being flooded in applications. If you could just hold your applications a little while, and submit them when the new system is introduced, I would be VERY grateful :)

Jagex will be dropping more scythes today at (The day is November 2, 2003):

Sunday 4pm (Eastern US Time)
Sunday 5pm (Eastern US Time)
Sunday 6pm (Eastern US Time)
Sunday 7pm (Eastern US Time)

There will only be 4 drops. They are dropping more because when they were dropping scythes (England time), most of the US was asleep, so nobody in the US could get any.
