RuneFest 2011

Introduction

In 2010 Jagex hosted their first ever RuneScape real life event, called RuneFest. The event, which took place in London, England, was complete with insider sessions, competitions, meet-and-greets, and Golden Gnome video awards. In June 2011, Jagex announced the date of the second RuneFest convention in London: October 29-30 2011. Tip.It will have a large presence at RuneFest 2011 and the attending administrators are teaming up with Jagex in the community management area of the event. This blog will shed some light on the features, contests, and activities that we will be offering Tip.It community members at the event. It doesn't quite cover every single aspect of RuneFest, but it details one of the Tip.It administrators' experience at the convention.

The Tip.It admin representitives will be hosting a dedicated Tip.It stall in the community management area of RuneFest in two time slots over the weekend. So don't forget to stop by during these times if you want to meet some Tip.It Staff members and pick up some free merchandise!

There will be at least two Tip.It Staff representatives attending RuneFest! How will you pick them out of the crowd? The attending Staff members will be wearing special Tip.It t-shirts, with both Tip.It and their forum usernames clearly written. Check it out below!

If you are attending RuneFest, we encourage you to buy a t-shirt from our Tip.It Online Store to show your allegiance! Or maybe you could even make a t-shirt of your own with your Tip.It username or RuneScape username! Don't forget, the Tip.It Staff will also be giving away a limited number of exclusive Tip.It t-shirts at the event!

Finally, don't forget about Jagex's RuneFest Gallery Competition! This competition is for you to create a piece of artwork representing RuneFest. The best pieces will be printed on high quality art canvas, displayed at RuneFest, and then delivered to the winners' homes along with RuneFest goody bags! Submissions should be e-mailed to [email protected] by September 14th 2011.

When at RuneFest, keep an eye out for the Tip.It guestbook, as shown below! If you sign your Tip.It Forum name, you will automatically be entered into a lottery to win a custom Tip.It Forum rank!

As mentioned in our August 10th blog entry, we will be providing exclusive Tip.It merchandise at RuneFest, featuring never-before-seen Tip.It logos! Look below for a sneak peak!

Rune Tips is very excited to announce that we will have a strong presence at RuneFest 2011! Several Tip.It administrators, including Siobhana and tripsis, will be teaming up with Jagex in the Community Management area of the event. The Tip.It staff is working very hard to prepare exclusive giveaways, contests, and other features for the RuneFest attendees! We will have an official RuneFest 2011 Tip.It Guestbook for all of the attending Tip.It'ers to sign. Each person who signs the guestbook with their Tip.It Forum username will automatically be entered into a drawing to win their own custom Tip.It Forum rank! As to be expected, we are also planning to bring plenty of Tip.It merchandise to RuneFest! We'll have a bunch of stickers, buttons, and pens free for the taking, and then we will reserve t-shirts and other "larger" pieces of merchandise for our exclusive competitions, which will take place during the event.

RuneFest will be a great way to meet up with your fellow Tip.It community members. The Tip.It staff is very eager to meet some of its user base in person. We look forward to casual conversation, discussing website and forum ideas, and even sharing a drink!
