Boss Info: This boss monster requires level 23 Dungeoneering to encounter.
Smuggler's Notes: The bulwark beast is a stalwart behemoth. His outer shell is as hard as rock and standard weapons won't penetrate it until you find a way to break through his shell. Your best plan would be either to mine away his shell with pickaxes or get around his protection by using magical spells.
Drops:

Free to play drops are shown in white, members-only drops in this colour, and unconfirmed drops in italic. Item groups are shown like [this].

Notes: The bulwark beast attacks using all three styles, and will trample you if you stand underneath it. Most of its attacks can hit multiple players at once and cannot be avoided. Its magic attack will initially strike a single target, and then bounce to the other players in the room. If you are hit by a bounced magic attack while praying against magic, you will not take damage, but some of your prayer points will be drained.

Occasionally, the bulwark beast will stomp the ground, dislodging a large rock from the ceiling, which will then fall on top of you. Amusingly enough, this attack can also deal damage to the beast itself.

The boss has heavy armour plates which fully protect it against melee and ranged attacks. You can destroy the armour plates by attacking the boss with a pickaxe. Using a higher quality pickaxe will allow you to destroy the armour plates faster. The beast becomes vulnerable to crush attacks once its armour has been destroyed. Magic attacks will ignore the armour plates entirely, but unfortunately, the beast is fairly resistant to magic.
