Has multiple uses on metallic dragons, similar to Dragon trinkets:
- A 5% chance to instakill the dragon you are fighting
- Awarding additional Slayer XP for killing a dragon. If on a Slayer task, this will be added on top of the Slayer experience you would normally have received.
- Auto-noting and auto-noting bones and hides/bars dropped by dragons.
- Teleporting to a location of dragons, at the cost of 5 trinkets.

Metallic dragon trinkets can be converted to dragon trinkets and vice versa. The exchange rate is 1 metallic dragon trinket for 5 regular (chromatic) dragon tickets.
Costs in trinkets for the actions by these trinkets are as follows:
- Instakill: 2 for bronze/steel/iron, 3 for adamant, 5 for rune.
- Additional Slayer XP: Bronze - 120 - 1 trinket, Iron - 240 - 1 trinket, Steel - 350 - 1 trinket, Mithril - 560 - 2 trinkets, Adamant - 640 - 2 trinkets, Rune - 2050 - 7 trinkets.
- Auto-looting: Bronze/iron/steel/mithril - 1 trinket per bone/bar, Adamant - 2 trinkets per bone/bar, Rune - 3 trinkets per bone/bar.
