Introduction

Port Sarim is under attack from Jed and his vicious band of slavers! From skilling to killing, there is loads you can do to repel the pirates and earn fantastic reward tokens in the process.

Port Sarim is under attack from Pirates, led by Jed. It's up to you to help defend Port Sarim from the pirates. Repair the lighthouse, make cannonballs, firing the cannon, or defeating pirates will earn you tokens which are exchanged for supply caches which unlocks rewards.

For this particular event, there is no specific player choice of sides. Individual players simply run around Port Sarim and can engage in activities as they wish, unrestrained by any consequences. Isn't war wonderful?

To start, speak to Guard Captain Roarkwin east of the Port Sarim lodestone. He will first give you 200 tokens and then will explain what is happening in Port Sarim.

Impressing the locals

This miniquest is only available to members and it is a requirement for sailing to the Arc Islands and beginning your Eastern Lands adventure. You need to have at least level 90 in one of the following skills: Cooking, Construction, Fishing, Herblore, Hunter, Prayer, Runecrafting, Slayer, or Thieving. There is only one reward for completing the miniquest and that is a new rest animation override.

To start the miniqest speak to Trader Stan at the south end of the Port Sarim port and ask him about Jed. He is annoyed that Jed stole one of his ships and is ruining Stan's good name. He wants you to get a crew and sail to the Eastern lands to intercept him and to see if it is safe to start a trading route. Agree to help him and he mention three crew that you will need on the ship, a dependable quartermaster to act as their second, a strong navigator else you'll wind up getting lost at sea, and a bosun to keep everything ship-shape.

Talk to the barmaid in your Player Owned Port about a quartermaster, but you will have to pay Trader Stan's bar tab before she will help you. Pay the tab and she will suggest you talk to Mister Gully upstairs in the bar. Talk to Gully and he will become your navigator.

Talk to Umi in your Player Owned Port or outside portal to your Player Owned Port about a navigator. She will decline but will suggest you ask her sister Jemi. Jemi can be found west of the Burthope lodestone. Talk to her and she will agree to be your navigator.

Talk to Guard Captain Roarkwin about hiring a bosun east of the Port Sarim lodestone and he would suggest Jacob, but Jed has abducted him. He will ask you to tell his sister in Draynor about his abduction and she is found upstairs in the pottery house in the north of Draynor Village. Tell her about Jacob and she will become your bosun.

After recruiting the three crew members, talk to Stan and you have completed the miniquest!

Boat to the Arc - Community Event

Between the 14th and the 18th of July, players can participate in an event to build a boat to the Eastern land the Arc. One can teleport directly there by left-clicking either Basic tools or Golden tools in one's inventory, if available. Upon logging in for the first time each day during the course of the event, 100 of the basic tools will be given for free. They will be placed either in your inventory, worn equipment, or bank, depending on where there is space. In addition, one can purchase additional basic tools from Seasinger Umi in exchange for loyalty points, if desired, and win golden tools in batches of 1, 2, or 4 as potential prizes from Treasure Hunter.

While working on the ship, you will make personal progress toward unlocking rewards, as well as aid in community progress. In order for a reward to be unlocked, the threshold for both personal and community progress must be unlocked. The rewards can be seen in the image below and different mystery boxes, and cosmetic overrides for it. It is worth noting that the contribution from your 100 free tools per day for all five days is sufficient for 100% completion by the end of the event. Ironman players can participate in this event, but they can only access the cosmetic aspects of the rewards .

While building the boat, you have two options of which skill you want to put your basic or golden tools towards. The experience received in whichever skill you choose depends on your level in it. Each day, the appearance and choice of skills one can train will change. There is always a choice of one free-to-play skill, and one members skill, so free players can also participate. The sword itself, however, is members only. The list of skills so far follows below.

Day Free-to-play skill Members skill
14th Mining Divination
15th Smithing Construction
16th Crafting Agility
17th Prayer Herblore
18th Woodcutting Slayer
