Dungeoneering Skills
Introduction
Dungeoneering allows the player to exercise many RuneScape skills to produce items. The items cannot be taken out of the dungeon, but they will definitely assist in conquering it. The complexity of the dungeon determines what skills can be used, and are noted next to the skill names above.
Construction (members only)
On complexity 5 and higher, you can utilise your construction skill in the dungeon's starting room. It allows you to replace the group gatestone portal with various other objects. These objects, as well as the materials and construction levels required to create them, are listed in the table below. The "cost" column specifies how much gold it would cost to buy the materials from the smuggler.

Cooking
Food is essential to surviving in Daemonheim. You often get fish as a drop. However at complexity 2 and above you can also cook food since there's a limited amount of it given to you.
You can buy raw fish from the smuggler at the beginning of the Dungeon. You can also fish at a fishing pool with a fishing rod and feathers, both of which can be purchased from the smuggler, obtained as a drop, or rarely, found in some of the chambers.
Members can also get supplies by farming potatoes and mushrooms in patches within Daemonheim. However, you must be at a Complexity of 5 and above in order to cook stuffed potatoes. Cook the potato, and then add a cooked fish, a raw mushroom (gissel or edicap), or both at the same time to make a food that restores more life points.
- Any fish = basic LP healing proportionate to level
- Any fish potato = + 30 more LP than the fish alone
- Any fish & gissel potato = + 60 more LP than the fish alone
- Any fish & edicap potato = + 120 more LP than the fish alone
You'll want either a cooking range or fire. For either one, you will need both a tinderbox and branches, which can be obtained by woodcutting, bought from the smuggler, or dropped by monsters. Note: Higher level wood will reduce the burning rate - level 99 cooks can still burn here!
Firemaking is the same as the rest of Runescape - use a tinderbox on the branches. A range is different - it must be stoked with branches, then lit with a tinderbox. Ranges have a lower burning rate, and are found at random in the dungeons (can also be built using the construction skill).

Crafting
Crafting inside Dungeoneering is limited to ranger armour and mage clothing. The supplies will be hides or textiles, found in dungeon complexities 4 and above. Hides can be obtained by buying from the smuggler, killing certain monsters, or trapping and skinning them using hunting. A needle and thread, bought from the smuggler, are required. Tanning is not needed. The body requires 5 hides, the chaps 3, the coif 2, and the boots and vambraces require 1 hide each.

Mage robes are derived from textiles. Textiles can be harvested (based on farming level) from random existing plants in the dungeon, or received as monster drops, or bought from the smuggler. The harvested items must be spun on a spinning wheel in the starting room (or other dungeon locations) to make cloth. Then craft them with a needle and thread to make mage clothing. The robe top requires 5 pieces of cloth, the robe bottom 3, the hood 2, and the shoes and gloves require 1 piece.

Divination (members only)
Dungeon complexity 6 is required to harvest wisps that appear randomly throughout the dungeon in the same way that other resources do. Memories and energy can be harvested from wisps provided the player has a high enough level to do so. These can then be deposited at the energy rift in the start room to gain additional divination experience or energies. Energy can be weaved to create portents of restoration and portents of passage which have some useful effects in daemonheim as detailed below.
Portents of Passage
Portents of passage can be weaved from gathered energy in order to bypass skill doors throughout the dungeon. The higher level tier the portent, the greater the amount of required levels one can negate. This is highly useful if you have high divination but lack the materials to create necessary skill boosting potions. To use a portent of passage on a skill door, simply interact normally with the door and the portent will be consumed. You cannot use portents of passage for bypassing skill tasks (e.g. catching ferrets, fishing), they may only be used on doors.
Portents of Restoration
Portents of restoration act similarly in Daemonheim as they do on the surface. They require both a divination and constitution level to weave, and will restore a certain amount of life points when your health drops below half. Unlike portents of passage, portents of restoration require a tiered secondary food ingredient to weave. Since they heal a similar amount of lifepoints as the food ingredients used, the only benefit of these portents is the possibility of being healed while not paying attention to health in combat. For faster floor completion, simply hang on to food and eat as necessary.
Farming (members only)
Dungeon complexity level 5 is required to farm seeds to grow food for cooking, or to grow herbs for potions. However, at dungeon complexity 4 you can harvest existing dungeon textiles for crafting robes.
Farming patches are distinct waist-high planting boxes found at random in dungeons (can also be built using the construction skill). Your plants will grow in one minute, due to Daemonheim's magical environment. They do not need to be watered or protected by potions. Seeds are obtained from monster drops and bought from the Smuggler.

Fletching (members only)
Starting at complexity 3, you can use your fletching skills to create arrows, bows and staves. Traps used for hunting can be made at complexity 5. As with regular fletching, you'll need some supplies to get started.
- Knife: purchased from the smuggler
- Branches: purchased from the smuggler, or obtained as monster drops or through Woodcutting
- Feathers: purchased from the smuggler
- Arrowtips: obtained through Smithing
- Bow strings: purchased from the smuggler, or obtained as a monster drop
Fletching - Arrows
To fletch arrows you must be raiding a dungeon of at least complexity 3. You'll need branches, a knife, feathers and arrowtips to create arrows. The amount of arrow shafts created per set of branches depends on the type of branches you are using.

Utilizing the Hunting skill, these traps are used to catch bovimastyx, a creature that can sometimes be found wandering around the dungeon. These creatures provide hides that can be used to craft ranged armour. You can simply kill the creatures to obtain a single hide, or snare them using the traps you fletch. Each trap requires a specific Hunting skill level to use it.
A knife and branches are the only tools required to Fletch traps.

Herblore (members only)
You can clean herbs within Daemonheim at complexity level 5 and higher. In order to use Herblore, you need to have completed the Druidic Ritual quest. Cleaning herbs in Daemonheim works the same way as it does the outside world - simply click the 'Clean' option on the herb and you will clean it, as long as you have the required Herblore level.

After you have cleaned the herb(s), you now have the option to combine them into potions. This ability is also available from complexity level 5 and onward.
To successfully combine a potion, you will need a primary herb, a secondary ingredient that corresponds with it, and a water-filled vial.
Vials are available from the smuggler. Water can be found at random places in dungeons, but a small trough will always be located next to a smelting furnace in the starting room.
There are two methods you can use to get the secondary ingredients - either as drops from monsters or from the smuggler.
To complete your potion, use the primary herb on the water-filled vial and then complete it by adding the secondary ingredient.

Hunting (members only)
You can lay traps on complexity level 4 and higher. A bovimastyx trap can be made from using a knife on a branch using the fletching skill. You can place traps on the floor with a roaming bovimastyx. The higher level the trap you lay, the higher chance of catching the bovimastyx you'll have. The trap will be destroyed if the beast is caught, or if the beast "trips" the mechanism without being caught.

Once you've successfully caught a bovimastyx in your trap, you can skin the carcass, provided you have a knife in your inventory. Skinning the carcass will yield bovimastyx hides. You'll need the respective Hunter level to skin the carcass. However, if you kill the bovimastyx outright instead of trapping it, your Hunter level does not matter, but it'll yield fewer hides than trapping. The hides you receive can be used to craft ranged equipment.

In dungeoneering, the Home Teleport spell takes you back to the starting room, which helps with many skilling and purchasing activities. Use it often!
To use a personal gatestone, you must first cast the Create Gatestone spell. This will cause a gatestone to appear in your inventory. Dropping the gatestone on the floor will create an "anchor" location. You will teleport to this location when you use the Gatestone Teleport spell. The teleport requires no runes, but your gatestone will crumble to dust upon arrival. To create another gatestone, simply use the Create Gatestone spell again.
You can use the Gatestone Teleport and Group Gatestone Teleport spells to exit a boss fight. Be sure to set up a gatestone if you're unsure about your chances of defeating the boss in one go!

Mining
You can mine in Daemonheim from complexity level 2 and higher.
Mining is the same inside Daemonheim as it is outside. You can use various pickaxes to mine the available ore if you have the appropriate required level. A better quality pickaxe will ruin fewer ores.
If you need to obtain a pickaxe, you can purchase one from the smuggler, smith your own, or receive one from combat.

Prayer
You can bury any bones you find for Prayer experience, just like in the outside world. In addition, if your dungeon contains an altar, you can any bones you find on the altar to get four times as much experience! The bones you can find while raiding a dungeon are listed in the table below.
Bones | 4.5 | 18 |
Bat bones | 5.3 | 21.2 |
Big bones | 15 | 60 |
Dragon bones | 72 | 288 |
Frost dragon bones | 180 | 720 |
Praying at an altar will only allow you to restore a certain amount of prayer points. This amount is equal to ten times your prayer level for small dungeons, equal to twenty times your prayer level for medium dungeons, and equal to thirty times your prayer level for large dungeons. This limit is not tied to a particular altar - if your dungeon contains multiple altars, you will not be able to restore more prayer points through them.
Altars are randomly found within dungeons. Sometimes, a dungeon may not contain an altar at all! If you have level 75 Construction, you can build an altar in the starting room yourself. Please refer to the Construction section of this guide for more information. You can also use rejuvenation potions to restore some prayer points. More information on how to brew these potions can be found in the Herblore section of this guide.
Runecrafting
Runecrafting and powering staves are available at dungeon complexity level 3 or higher.
Rune essence can be obtained from monster drops, or purchased from the smuggler. Simply take it to an altar, such as in the starting room, and choose the rune you wish to make. Runecrafting xp is accrued at 1/10 of the normal xp per 10 runes made, so it is 1/100 the normal xp per rune. Free-to-play players can craft runes that are used on F2P worlds; astrals and blood runes are not used on F2P.

At complexity level 3 or higher, you can use runecrafting altars to power up staves. Staves are generally made through fletching, though the smuggler sells some as well. When powering staves, you earn the amount of experience listed below in both Magic and Runecrafting.
To power up a staff, use it on a runecrafting altar and choose from the options. Before powering, ordinary staves have only minimal stat benefits. Making one into an elemental staff provides an unlimited supply of one type of rune, as always. A catalytic staff boosts your magic damage by 15%, and an empowered catalytic staff boosts it by 20%.

Slayer (members only)
On any complexity level, there may be slayer creatures that require a certain slayer level to fight. They do not require special equipment. Note that regular slayer monsters from Runescape will also appear in the dungeons. However, they do not give slayer xp unless you have been tasked to kill them. When a slayer monster drops its unique drop, only the player who dealt the most damage to it will be able to see the drop. If the drop has not been picked up it will become visible to all players after 30 seconds.

- 1 The blood necklace pulses every 10 seconds. Each enemy next to you will be hit for up to 40 damage, and you will be healed for an amount equal to the damage dealt this way.
- 2 Each dagger (frostbite or hailstorm) has a 20% chance to deal an extra 50 damage. This goes up to 100 damage if used with flameburst defender.
- 3 The flameburst defender has unique effects when equipped along with a dagger (either frostbite or hailstorm):
- With frostbite, the defender's max damage increases +10 . However, your attack will be decreased -10%.
- When used with either dagger (frostbite or hailstorm), the damage from the daggers' 20% chance increases to 100 per hit.
- 4 When the shadow silk hood is equipped, bosses and mages can see you, but humanoids cannot. If a mage or seeker spots you, then you will be revealed to everyone in the room.
- 5 The doomcore staff has a magic damage increase of +25%.
- 6 The hexhunter bow boosts range damage based on the enemy's magic attack or magic strength attack, which ever is higher.
Smithing
Access to smithing begins at dungeon complexity level 3, where you can smelt bars and make weapons. Complexity level 4 permits you to smith armour. Furnaces and anvils are located in the dungeons, and often in the starting room.
Smelting requires only a furnace and the desired ore. Ore may be obtained by mining, or by purchasing it from the smuggler. Note that primal ore does not exist; primal items can only be obtained as drops.

Smithing weapons and armour requires an anvil, a hammer, and bar(s) of the desired metal. A hammer may be obtained as monster drop, or bought from the smuggler. Take your bars to an anvil, often found in the starting room of your dungeon, and use a hammer to make the items you require. A hammer can be purchased from the smuggler.
Unlike ordinary Runescape smithing, the xp when using an anvil and hammer is not solely tied to the number of bars used. The xp increases as you make higher levelled items.

Summoning (members only)
You can summon familiars at dungeon complexity level 5 and higher. You must have completed the Wolf Whistle quest to use summoning in Daemonheim. Making familiar pouches in Daemonheim is easier than the ordinary process. All that is needed to make a pouch is a charm and a secondary ingredient. Both can be obtained from monster drops or from other dungeon activities. Shards and blank pouches are not required. The starting room will always contain a summoning obelisk.
You can downgrade charms by using them on a summoning obelisk. Blue charms can be downgraded to either crimson, green or gold charms. Crimson charms can be downgraded to green or gold charms. Green charms can only be downgraded to gold charms. Gold charms are at the bottom of the food chain, and can't be downgraded at all.
Daemonheim pouches can be categorised by their purpose. The level of function is directly related to their tier. Familiars in the same category last the same amount of time. Combat familiars fight in their style and increase your defence against that style. The defence boost they provide is equal to their tier. Their scroll ability improves their attack and weakens the enemy.

Woodcutting
Woodcutting in Daemonheim is available from complexity level 2 and higher.
Trees in Daemonheim grow up the walls and are found at random. Cutting them is the same as anywhere else in Runescape - use a hatchet to chop the trees and obtain wood branches.
In order to obtain a hatchet, a player can fight, smith one from a relative metal, or purchase one from the smuggler. A higher level hatchet will successfully cut more branches.
