Kalphite Dungeon

The entrance to this multi-combat members only dungeon is located in the desert south of Al-Kharid. After paying to get through Shantay pass into the desert, a brief march west will lead you to the insect dungeon opening. You will need two ropes: one for the main entrance and one for the Queen lair. However these ropes stay for a while, and if you are coming with a team, you will only need two ropes for the whole team.

People mainly come to this dungeon to battle with the Kalphite Queen in search of her rare and infamous Dragon chainmail drop. Be aware that the Guardians and Soldiers can poison you so bring the right potions. The Queen is known to be impossible to 'solo', so it is best to kill her with a team.

The Queen has an initial form and a second form. When you kill the first form, she will transform into the second form. Both forms use a dangerous magic attack that can hit many players at the same time, as well as a ranged attack. It is recommended to bring prayer potions and use the 'protect from magic' prayer against both forms.

First Form
The Queen uses 'protect from range' and 'protect from magic' together, so it is best to melee fight her. Get your team to attack from all sides so you don't all take damage.

Second Form
The Queen is now flying and uses protect from melee, so it is best to range her. Bring your best arrows and ranging potions for greatest effect. You can use the many level 28 workers as cover while you range her so that she can't melee you.

Alternatively, you may use Verac's armour or other high attack bonus weapons. Despite popular belief, her protection prayers do not grant full immunity, serving only to increase her defence. Visit the Kalphite Queen Guide to learn more about her abilities, and tactics to defeat her.
